Bulkheads are designed to link your outward water flow from your weir to the sump or link any internal fittings to external fittings on your tank such as for closed loop systems.

These are primarily sealed with a sealant to the back nut inside the weir and then using the washer supplied on the outside and underside of the tank but, it is your choice how you fit them on your specific system.

Example:  A 25mm bulkhead fitting is for use with 25mm pipe but would require a hole of at least 35mm for it to fit through.

This bulkhead fitting allows you to insert 25mm pipe into either end or you can also use a 32mm straight connector and use 32mm pipe at one end and 25mm pipe at the other or even use the threaded 32mm fitting and use a hose-tail at one end.

Thus this 25mm bulkhead fitting is very universal.
